The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, Regional Office for Arab States (UNDRR ROAS) announces the upcoming Tenth Arab Partnership Meeting for Disaster Risk Reduction hosted by the Government of Kuwait.

The aim of the biannual Arab Partnership meetings for DRR has been to create a forum for technical and operational deliberation on the progress, challenges, and gaps in the implementation of the Sendai Framework in the region. Another key objective is to facilitate regional discussion on innovative solutions towards climate risk management and DRR integration in the SDGs in the Arab region. These periodic discussions on the implementation challenges, gaps and solutions intend to inform the deliberations of the Arab Regional Platform conferences.

The 2-day meeting will focus on Consultations on Prioritized Action Plan for DRR 2025-2027. It will bring together the National Sendai Framework Focal Points, representatives of the meteorological entities and local governments, members of the Arab stakeholder groups for DRR, representatives of regional UN and international organizations, and the League of Arab States.

The 10th meeting intends to mark second step in the technical deliberations in preparation for the Sixth Arab Regional Platform for DRR, being hosted by the Government of Kuwait in October 2024.
