Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA): Coherence Pathways in Asia-Pacific Stakeholder Consultation Workshop
By invitation
- English
The increasingly complex and systemic nature of risk demands more integrated and holistic approaches to risk reduction, adaptation and resilience in policy and practice. The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Regional Office for Asia-Pacific and the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) are working together to assess policy coherence in the realms of disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation (CCA) in Asia and the Pacific. The analysis aims to enhance understanding of coherence and inform future policy planning and implementation support, towards more comprehensive and coherent DRR and CCA approaches across the region.
To validate preliminary findings and gain additional insights on the status of coherence and good practices at different scales, UNDRR and SEI are organizing a stakeholder consultation to identify innovative approaches, opportunities, enabling factors and obstacles to enhancing coherence in the Asia-Pacific region towards more inclusive and risk-informed sustainable development.
