Fiji: United Nations information market day on the theme 'Reducing the risk of disaster and poverty and recognising women and food production'

An information market will be organized at the Ba Town Market, Fiji, to celebrate the International Day for Disaster Reduction, International Day for Rural Women, International World Food Day and International Day for Poverty Eradication. The event will include testimonies from local government, women market vendors and students on their experience with and recovery from the March floods as well as a a film on ‘Women producing, distributing and trading food in markets in Fiji’. Members of the public are invited to visit a photo exhibition at the venue on Pacific market and women market vendors.
