The Latin America and Caribbean Climate Week (LACCW 2023) is an important event in the region that brings together national institutions, allies and partners with the objective of addressing regional climate change challenges and promoting sustainable development. UNDRR Regional Office for the Americas and the Caribbean aims to actively participate in this regional meeting and contribute to discussions on disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate action.

The plan focuses on raising awareness, sharing experiences and strengthening partnerships to improve disaster risk reduction and climate action in the region. Active participation in Climate Week is part of the regional office's effort to advance the UNDRR Climate Change Accelerator, which also includes the Integrated Climate Risk and Disaster Management Approach.
