Broadcasters have a responsibility to inform and educate their audiences about the threats posed by climate related risk and what they can do to avoid being a victim of disaster. They can do this by airing public service announcements, producing accurate and up to the minute news coverage and improving the information about the issue. Eighteen (+) broadcast journalists and technicians will participate in a two-day workshop to explore the link between climate change and disasters and how to reduce their risk.
