Tracking of disaster risk reduction and recovery investments in international aid

The workshop, in preparation of the Third Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction that will take place from 8-13 May 2011, Geneva, Switzerland, brought together experts on disaster risk reduction, aid tracking, aid effectiveness, climate change finance tracking and humanitarian aid tracking. The workshop provided the ground for identifying challenges and gaps in existing aid tracking systems, knowledge and capacities to assist the decision makers and authorities that are responsible for preparing for and taking decisions on budgetary allocation to promote an effective use of existing development resources and mainstreaming of DRR in aid interventions, including increasing support to disaster risk reduction funding.
