UNDRR ROAS Participation at Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition 2021

The UNDRR Regional Office for the Arab States (ROAS) participated in the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition – DIHAD that is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Dubai.
The Conference and Exhibition were organized from March 15 to 17, 2021 at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai.
The UNDRR ROAS participation was set under the umbrella of the UN Pavilion aiming to promote the Making Cities Resilience (MCR) 2030 Programme and initiate new collaborations and engagement with different humanitarian foundations, to explore potential joint programmes in the region on a local level.
DIHAD brings together key decision-makers from leading NGOs, UN Agencies, Charity Organizations, and governmental bodies, together with aid, education, and construction providers from the private sector to address the needs of the people and countries affected by crises, disasters, and natural calamities.
During the 3 days, the UNDRR ROAS team met with several participants from the region including the King Abdullah Humanitarian Center, Dubai Cares, and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI).
DIHAD also included 14 ‘Innovation Workshops’ featuring 50 prominent speakers in the field of humanitarian and relief work from across the world working to address a range of key issues facing Africa. The event also included a special session about the future of Africa post-COVID-19.
