In the context of revising the fatalities for Hurricane Maria, the Governor of Puerto Rico has acknowledged that the island was not as prepared as it could have been for the storm.

The 31 UN Member States in the Group of Friends of Disaster Risk Reduction has urged that National Voluntary Reviews on progess towards achieving the SDGs should include data from the Sendai Framework Monitor launched by UNISDR in March.
