Centre for Climate and Safety is a knowledge center at Karlstad university. We seek to find solutions to the risks connected to extreme weather events such as rainstorms, floods and windstorms - through our research and through cooperative projects. Our research focuses on key concepts such as risk management, vulnerability and safety. The main aim is to assess the vulnerability of society and its ability to cope with the potential risks. We excel at linking our research to municipal and regional practice.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
