The European Network of National Platforms, formed in 2007 by the Basel Agreement, currently brings together national platforms for disaster risk reduction from Czech Republic, France, Germany and Poland.
This network, which is expected to expand, is working closely with other national platforms in Europe and with regional and international stakeholders like the European Commission, the UN, the Council of Europe, and the European Forum for Disaster Risk Reduction, recently created.
Developing a system of information exchange and channeling among members of the Network, establishing a system of information flow between UN/ISDR end the members of the Network, preparing a coherent presentation of European NPs as an input to the Global Platform meeting, and initiating a structured approach to European institutions with regard to DRR matters with the aim to identify synergies for harmonization of DRR efforts across the European countries.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
