The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) serves as the President’s adviser on disaster preparedness programs, disaster operations and rehabilitation efforts undertaken by the government and the private sector.
It acts as the top coordinator of all disaster management and the highest allocator of resources in the Philippines. The NDRRMC was formerly known as the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC).
The primary objective of the National Calamity and Disaster Preparedness Plan is to ensure effective and efficient implementation of civil protection programme through an integrated, multi-sectoral and community based approach and strategies for the protection and preservation of life, property and environment.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
