UNDP partners with people at all levels of society to help build nations that can withstand crisis, and drive and sustain the kind of growth that improves the quality of life for everyone. On the ground in 177 countries and territories, we offer global perspective and local insight to help empower lives and build resilient nations.
UNDP Drylands Development Centre supports development in the drylands using an integrated approach based on a framework programme, known as the Integrated Drylands Development Programme (IDDP). IDDP combines three interlinked issues of importance to poverty alleviation in the drylands, namely: (i) Mainstreaming of drylands development issues into national policy and planning frameworks; (ii) Reducing vulnerability of poor populations to climatic shocks, especially drought; and (iii) Improving local governance of natural resources management.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
