Asia-Pacific input document for the Post-2015 Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (HFA2): risk sensitive development as the cornerstone of resilience and sustainability
This document reflects the inputs received from an extensive multi-stakeholder consultations process involving governments, organizations and various networks in the Asia-Pacific region from March 2012 to date. At the request of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) has facilitated consultations with countries and organizations at all levels and in different regions on the next phase of the HFA (Post-2015 Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, hereafter, HFA2).
Informal consultations in the Asia-Pacific have culminated in the development of this document, which was used to guide discussions at the 6th Asian Ministerial Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction (6th AMCDRR) and became a key contribution from the Asia-Pacific region to the HFA2 discussions at the Preparatory Committee meetings for the 3rd UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in March 2015, in Sendai, Japan.
