Country Disaster Risk Profile of the Republic of Kazakhstan
This is the Country Disaster Risk Profile of the Republic of Kazakhstan which is the result of the "National Disaster Loss Databases Implementation in Central Asia" project, which spanned from July 2020 to January 2023. The project supported Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan in developing robust damage and loss data collection systems. This effort aligns with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals Agenda 2030.
Coordinated by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and funded by the European Union, the project was part of the "Strengthening Disaster Resilience and Accelerating Implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction in Central Asia" initiative. Its primary focus was to establish the DesInventar Sendai system at National Disaster Risk Reduction authorities in Central Asia. DesInventar Sendai facilitates the collection and analysis of data on disaster losses and damages related to natural and technogenic hazards, aiding countries in reporting on Sendai Framework Targets.
