Improvement of the global food model for the GAR 2015
This paper presents a methodology for deriving hazard maps on the global level, which puts emphasis on the use of stream flow data directly and gives credible results in terms of hazard and risk computation. The issue this methodology attempts to resolve is the poor temporal resolution - data is in fact collected monthly and not daily instead.
This study tries to attain one of the goals of the GAR process: an enhanced Global Risk Model, addressing gaps in current knowledge on risk patterns and trends and providing accurate and credible information for the global disaster risk reduction community.
This document is an input paper of the 2015 Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction.
