Mid-term review: Pacific regional DRM framework for action
This paper presents a mid-term review of the Pacific Regional disaster risk management (DRM) Framework for Action (RFA). It provides information about: (i) the extent to which the RFA and the Hyogo Framework for Action have progressed so far; (ii) the obstacles/successes to implementation; emerging issues that need to be incorporated to achieve a sustainable reduction in disaster losses; and (iii) what should be the focus of international, regional and national action in DRM beyond 2015. It is based on two rounds of consultations: (i) a preliminary one covering the views of regional partners; and (ii) another one covering responses and views of representatives of Pacific island countries and territories conducted during the Pacific Platform meeting.
