Water Community Survey: Analysis of Results
UNDRR developed a water survey to collect water community views, experiences and proposals to inform the Sendai Framework and Water Action Decade MTRs. Between 7 June and 16 September 2022, 20 responses were received to the water survey, including from UN-Water members and observers.
The objective of the water community survey was to collect water community views, experiences and proposals to inform the MTR SF. The knowledge and views from the multitude of stakeholders engaged in the global water community are recognized as being vital to informing and enriching the MTR SF and the resultant Political Declaration. The present report summarizes key findings of the water survey, which are equally relevant for the Water Action Decade MTR.
The results of the water survey provide valuable information on views and experiences of the water community in relation to the Sendai Framework in a changing context along with insights on areas of suggested future adjustments for water-related disaster risk governance/management. Results may guide a way forward for water-related risk governance in the second half of the implementation of both the Sendai Framework and the Water Action Decade.
