Created by the UN General Assembly to improve the UN system’s effectiveness, the UNSSC is in the unique position to act as an agent of change and innovation from within the system itself by helping to build a more effective and responsive team of leaders and a more cohesive management culture. By learning as one and by sharing knowledge, UN staff become better equipped to deliver as one unified and coherent system, rather than as a fragmented body of institutions with different mandates.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
