The launch of the RP23 marked the start of the 5th Risk Reduction Week, in commemoration of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction.

On the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction 2022, Head of UNDRR Mami Mizutori calls on all countries to implement Target G of the Sendai Framework to increase access to multi-hazard early warning systems and risk information.

The purpose of this document is to support countries in the computation of custom indicators developed to measure the effectiveness of Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems (MHEWS), available via the Sendai Framework Monitor national level reporting.

The winners were selected from the 420 nominations that were received from 24 countries across the Asia-Pacific region. The awards, which come with a cash prize, celebrate women's achievements in reducing disaster risk.
